Help for Children of America believes that every child deserves a home environment that is conducive to health and safety.  HCA focuses upon strengthening the family unit as the individual family unit has defined itself, to ensure that a child's emotional development is protected and actively encouraged – even when the physical health of a child may be neither impoverished nor endangered.  

Through helping the primary caregiver and/ or guardian to cope with and overcome a crisis situation, HCA mitigates the risk of a breakdown in family structure, and helps to decrease significantly any negative consequences the child might otherwise have suffered.  We work with and facilitate relationships among the many individuals, and private and government groups crucial in providing comprehensive and effective support to children and families in need.  Through thoughtful communication both with individual families and the extended network of organizations that support them, HCA believes we can form a web so tightly woven that no child can fall through. 

Families come to HCA in times of crisis, instability, and isolation – isolation being the last thing one wishes to experience in a time of need.
